In Collaboration // Elliott Metal X Juno Jung

Things are always better when they're together. That's why we're so obsessed with the latest collaboration from Elliott Metal X Juno Jung. A creative partnership that formed during the lockdown of August 2021, born from the aforementioned's mutual love of Y2K inspirations and Juno's muse Scott Evil (of Austin Powers notoriety) the pair introduces the Y2K 2 Chain Neck Piece.

So we asked silver smith Gabe of Elliott Metal and content creator/model Juno to give us the low down on how their artistic endeavor came together.

JUNO // Although I love stying myself chic in all black with a silk scarf most of the time, my very first aspiring fashion moment was from seeing Seth Green as Scott Evil in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. I watched it with my parents when I was younger, as they were really into cinema & movie/videotape collectors! It's such a guilty pleasure of mine; quirky comedy movies. Scott Evil’s spiky hair with blue tips, ball chains, and layers of punky shirts are what instantly remind me of my teenhood when I used to dream of his style and try act so punk and cool. Anyway, I posted a story about Scott Evil’s look on instagram that I had been too shy to share with others for so long haha, and Gabe reached out.

GABE // Yeah, we connected through Instagram during August lockdown 2021. Discovering that we both have a love of everything ’90s & Y2K. With Juno channeling cinema, always having fully vibed Scott Evil & his steeze. His ball chain was a major player in his style, and with that as the inspiration genesis, the Y2K 2 Chain Neck Piece was born.

JUNO // When Gabe messaged me about putting our inspiration together - I honestly did not even expect that it could happen for real. But we knew that our love for Y2K fashion is mutual and so this beautiful neck piece was created. Literally out of one insta story.

GABE // Once we had created our dream piece, Juno and photographer Simon L Wong took to the Streets in Auckland in February 2022, channeling urbanite Y2K NRG!! Simon has shot for Elliott Metal before was yet to meet and work with Juno so it was another really inspirational connection to get these two to work together & capture the vision for both Juno & I, and we're so excited to share it with you!
