Presenting // Rick Owens' DRKSHDW

Join the dark side with The Shelter, as we present DRKSHDW by Rick Owens. Those who follow fashion will already be familiar with the name, affectionately labelled the Lord of Darkness by his cult-like following. The father of modern, luxurious grunge, he has inspired a generation with the same dark elegance, limited colour palette, coveted accessories, signature shoes and draped silhouettes. Differentiating itself from the mainline, Rick Owens DRKSHDW offers up a minimal take on the designer's dark and directional universe.

The DRKSHDW collection we recently received is from a collection entitled Gethsemane. Named of the garden in Jerusalem where Jesus spent the night before his crucifixion, an uneasy space before his final reckoning. The biblical illusion was used as a reference point to allude to the current global pandemic, touching on themes of unease and distress. Serving as the inspiration for the photoshoot through The Shelter's lens, a tense, uncertain atmosphere was created through the lighting, model composition and styling.
